BAJAUR: The authorities have enhanced security of mosques across the region in order to foil untoward incidents during the holy month of Ramazan, sources of political administration said on Sunday.
Talking to this correspondent, the sources said that strict security arrangements were made at mosques in various localities of the region during the Friday prayers. According to the local people they saw extraordinary measures being taken by the local administration outside at the mosques in several plans and urban areas of the agency during the Friday prayers. A number of levies personnel along with a peace volunteers were deployed outside the main gates of number of mosques situated in posh and urban areas during the Friday prayers and they checking every one while entering the mosques, they added.
Sources in the local administration told that strict security arrangements were seen at mosques located in crowded and congested localities of Khar Tehsil and its surrounding areas. According to the sources, the same security arraignments at the mosques in several areas will continue during the Ramazan especially for the Friday prayers. The Bajaur Agency political administration has confirmed the fresh security measures being taken in the region.
