BRUSSELS: Kashmir Council EU organised an event of candle light vigil on Monday in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, as an expression of its solidarity with the oppressed people of the Indian Held Kashmir (IHK).
The event was arranged in memory of the people of IHK, especially the youth brutally martyred by the Indian occupation forces in the past few days. A large number of people from all walks of life and as well as representatives of different Human Rights Organizations also attended the event, which was held at Place De I’Albertine (Central Station) in Brussels. Local Europeans also showed up to join hands with the Kashmiri-Europeans and other Asian communities in the vigil and expressed their solidarity with the oppressed people of Kashmir.
Participants also condemned the recent terrorist attack at the hands of a truck driver in France and expressed their solidarity with the victims of the tragic incident. The protestors held various placards, inscribed with anti-Indian slogans, and expressed their solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris, especially families of martyrs targeted by Indian forces in the recent events in IHK. By condemning the atrocities and genocide of Kashmiris committed by Indian Occupation forces, the participants also paid great tribute to the bravery shown by the people of Kashmir. On the occasion, Ali Raza Syed, Chairman, Kashmir Council EU and other speakers noted that they would continue supporting the people of Kashmir until a suitable resolution of the Kashmir dispute. The speakers said that the people of Kashmir are struggling peacefully for their right of self-determination and that there should be a plebiscite organised under United Nations supervision in order to mark a clear political fate of the disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
