The personnel of the Security & Management Services (SMS) deployed inside the Chinese Consulate in Karachi played a significant role in management of the emergency during an attack on the premises.
“Two security guards and a lady searcher immediately locked 12 people including 10 visa applicants and two staff members inside a washroom and remained in the Visa Section themselves,” a press release issued by the organization said. “Meanwhile, personnel of the law enforcement agencies including Rangers and police reached the premises and started search inside the compound. Three terrorists were killed in crossfire with the LEAs during the operation and a suicide vest was seized,” it added.
“The management of the SMS remained in constant touch with both the Chinese officials and the guard force until situation was back to normal,” the statement said. “All Chinese consulate staff members remained safe during the attack,” it added.
