KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair on Sunday confirmed his resignation and expressed reservations over elections 2018 claiming that the polls were rigged.
“I resigned from governorship yesterday, while I do have reservations over elections because even after 4 days, the process of counting continues,” Zubair said while addressing a press conference at Governor House.
Zubair claimed that he has seen video footages of rigging, while he added that polling agents were told to leave the stations during vote counting. “Did the RTS fail, or was it deliberately halted?” he questioned.
He also insisted that the country needs free press and judiciary in order to progress.
The outgoing governor criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan’s plans of enhancing ties with India.
“Every time we talked about bettering relations with India, Khan criticised us, but would he not do the same now?”
